La doxycycline, membre de la famille des tétracyclines, agit par inhibition de la fixation de l’ARNt sur la sous-unité 30S du ribosome, empêchant l’élongation de la chaîne peptidique. Elle se caractérise par un spectre très large incluant bactéries atypiques, rickettsies, chlamydiae et spirochètes. Sa biodisponibilité digestive est excellente, mais elle est diminuée en cas d’ingestion simultanée de sels de calcium, fer ou magnésium. La doxycycline diffuse bien dans les tissus et possède une demi-vie longue, permettant des administrations biquotidiennes. Elle est éliminée principalement par voie biliaire. Les précautions concernent le risque de photosensibilisation, d’hyperpigmentation dentaire et de troubles digestifs. Dans les recommandations cliniques, la mention doxycycline sans ordonnance est souvent accompagnée de rappels sur la nécessité d’éviter son usage chez l’enfant et la femme enceinte, ainsi que sur la surveillance des traitements prolongés.

  • L. Pinkus - Great stroller - 2 small issues

    This is a great stroller - we use it for quick walks around the block and a trip to Greece. It's light to carry, and the sun shade is great. The size, weight and ease of use of the stroller have made it our go-to stroller, although I do have two complaints:

  • Roy Ehmke - Roxio Creator 2011

    I tried several copiers over the years, but this one did not strike my fancy. I thought Roxio had put too many bells and whistles into this thing. Aside from that, after loading it into my system, (Windows XP Pro, 32 bit) it was jockeying for superior position with the copier in XP. To make matters worse, my computer started strange things like not wanting to shut down, and a few other things. I'm generally not impressed, sorry Roxio.

    I bought this book in the hopes that it could give me some inside statistics on admission that the University websites could not. I was hugely disappointed. Not only are the stats completely non-descriptive, not all school descriptions list the same information (some are missing some info but it's the school's own fault for not submitting that info). As well, while the book does have Canadian Universities in it, 3/4 of the book is devoted to listing American schools (granted, they have a lot more), but if you are only interested in applying within Canada, it will be so much cheaper to just look at the websites for information.
