    Microsoft offers a trial period (30 days, I think) to see if Word will be a good fit. I tried the trial and within a few days after becoming aware of how to do what I needed to do, I realized this was the program I needed. I had using a popular free writing program but had a dickens of a time setting it up so it could translate correctly into format Kindle liked. Never did get 100% compliance.

    The computer has been such an improvement from what I had but in between needed assist from the Geek squad (many hours) because McAfee which comes with the computer was not allowing me to do much. McAfee has been a problem in the past for me. It is a very aggressive security system that won't give up. I think all the HP computers come with it. Meantime now everything is smooth but I could not be in my position using the computer without assist of Geek squad.

  • NWWI. - Great on some fabric

    Worked great on cotton.It worked great on a Carhartt 12oz cotton duck jacket,was able to completely soak it down with the Scotchguard.Water beads up on it and mild dirt wipes off clean. Not so good on an older Columbia 100% nylon shell water repellent jacket,that after many washings had lost it's repellency. With only a light spraying of Scothchguard it made a waxy white coating that I thought had ruined the jacket. Would not wash out in wash machine. It took an abusive hand washing with a lot of detergent to remove it.Jacket was OK. Now I use Atsco Silicone Waterguard on all my nylon water repellent jackets to make them stain and completely waterproof.
